Smiley Saturday
For my first Smiley Saturday I have a few things that have made me smile this week. I guess its been a good week for me. I hope that everyone else’s week has been at least 10% as good as mine:
- I launched my blog last Sunday (yay, thats soooo exciting, well for me anyway)
- Tuesday night was Parent Info night for Daisy’s year. There was a great bunch of Mums there and a couple of Dads and we turned what could have been mundane into an evening of fun, mixed with serious stuff. Its great to be able to share a laugh with other people.
- Thursday was Tiger’s swimming carnival. He came 1st in 25m backstroke and freestyle and 2nd in 25m breaststroke. I’m so proud of him for having a go at things, and a ribbon at the end of it is a bonus
- DH came to Tiger’s first cricket game of the year. This is huge for him to not go to work on a Saturday. I love that he took time away from work to spend with us. That really makes me smile.
- Daisy had her first session at Saturday gymnastics today and came out smiling. A few of the girls have been given the opportunity to train on Saturdays for a couple of weeks and see how they like it. If they like it and can keep up with the training level, they can start training for competitions. Daisy is so excited…….. That makes me smile, and that she is willing to give it a go too.
- Lightening thought that my comment in her Caption Comp was worthy of a prize. WOW, me, win a prize????? Thanks Lightening, I will send the details soon .
So, there you have it. A small wrap-up of the week. Writing that list makes me feel really lucky. Thanks Lightening for making me stop and think about it.

great stuff!! It’s great when we see our kids acheiving at sports or just plain happy with the things they are doing. How special for your DH to take time off for the cricket!
Don’t forget to go put your link into mr linky at lightenings so that everyone else knows you have a smiley saturday post too.
What a lovely week
Gave this little wench a snuggle for ya
hi Gemisht,
I like the look of your blog . Congratulations on the launch.
A lovely smiley Saturday post. Great achievements for your children -proud mummy moments always make me smile. My oldest did Cricket a few years … long games in summer heat but still I enjoyed it mostly.
It was good DH came to watch Tiger play , he will remember that more than a monetary gift.
Awesome stuff.
I was so busy being evil that I forgot to do my Smiley Saturday.
Welcome to blogging !!!
Bettina - D’oh, I knew I had forgotten something. Done now and thanks for the reminder
Angel - Thanks for giverg her a snuggle for me. Keep em coming. And thanks for visiting again
Trish - We’re pretty lucky with the cricket as he plays “Super 8″s” so there is only 8 batting and it only goes for about an hour and a half and the latest start we have had is 10am so out of the worst of the heat. Thanks for the compliments on the blog, but I can’t take all the credit, Snoskred gets most of it.
Nikki - LOL, and you do evil so well. I hope that Anja doesn’t get too bad a revenge on you and Bettina. It was fun though. And thanks for the welcome.
Okay… is his name Tiger, or is he just nicknamed Tiger?
Cos… I know I’d have fun teaching him if his name was Tiger.
Nice Saturday, too. Here’s to a few more before the year’s out, eh?
Sounds like a fantastic saturday, wishing you many more of them.
Hugs!
That’s a fantastic Saturday.
And good on the kiddies for giving it their best.
ooooo I’m sure Anja will get us good………….
Only just got over here to say hello and love the new blog! Looks great and it’ll be nice to see your take on things here, since we’ve all gotten to know you in the forum.
And thanks for your comment on my eating/dining saga!!
Mr V - His name isn’t really Tiger, but he is a Tiger. Sometimes. And nicknamed Tiger. And you would probably have him worked out pretty quickly - aren’t 10-11 year olds what you’re used to?????
Erin - Thanks for the hugs and it was a great Saturday
Anja - Thanks, they were pleased with themselves too
Bettina - I think that Anja will get us good too - I’ll be sure not to mention when I won’t be around
Guera - Thanks for the comment. No comment on the eating/dining, lest we open that can of worms again
