My First Meme - 7 Random Things About Me
Lightening tagged me for the 7 Random Things about Me meme a couple of days before I launched my blog. She gave me the option of doing it in her comments or saving it for when the blog was launched. I took the latter option as I thought it would be a good chance to let you know a bit more about me.
So here goes:
- I have my forklift licence. And yes, I do drive the forklift at work, although I haven’t been on it for a while. We bought a new one and I don’t like it as much as the old manual one. Maybe because the old one was made the year I was born.
- I can’t cook pasta. Well, I can cook it, but for something that is supposed to be a quick, easy meal, how come I always end up feeling tied in a knot and doing something wrong, and a huge mess in the kitchen. It’s not my specialty.
- My left foot is a full half size bigger than my right. Makes shoe shopping hard.
- I can’t sleep on the other side of the bed. Even if I have the bed to myself. It just feels wrong.
- When I hang the washing on the line I work my way around anti-clockwise.
- I can only wear one perfume, White Linen. Everything else that I have tried causes an allergic reaction.
- I can’t eat Octopus, I am too scared that the suckers will stick to my mouth, or even worse, my throat. I do love squid though, it doesn’t have any suckers on it.
So now for the rules:
*Link to the person that tagged you
*Post the rules on your blog.
*Share 7 random and/or weird facts about yourself on your blog.
*Tag 7 random people at the end of your post and include links to their blogs.
*Let each person know that they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their blogs.
Seeing as I am fairly new to the Blog world, I am not going to tag anyone for this, and I think that the ones that I would tag have probably done this meme at least once anyway. If you haven’t been tagged for this one and you would like to do it, then consider yourself tagged and go for it.

Cool, you drive a forklift!!! That’s even better than my driving a truck (not even counting the fact that I only drove the truck a few feet).
Your 7 things are great - a wonderful way to get to know you a little better.
Thanks for playing along.
A half size bigger? I know most people have a small difference between feet {and hands} but a full half size? That must be THE biggest pain in the butt?

The shoe thing must be a pain in the arse.
Believe it or not, this girly girl used to drive a truck. In a dress.
I’m with you on the bed thing.
I won’t eat anything with feathers, fur or fins. Icky.
You drive a forklift, yay you!
Lightening : Thanks for the opportunity to play along. Yeah I drove the little truck a couple of times, but DH wouldn’t let me after I bunny-hopped it badly in the driveway with a load of stuff on there. It almost fell off LOL
Anonymum: Yeah, pain in the butt, and the big toe. So I go for the bigger size to fit the left foot and lots of half innersoles in the right one. Sandals are trickier though.
Kelley: LOL at you driving a truck in a dress. I have driven the fork with a straight skirt on. The driving was ok, its the getting on and off thats tricky, and not very elegant LOL
Anja - Feathers are worse than suckers aren’t they? Yeah, driving the forklift is pretty cool and good fun.
Oooh I used to drive the forklift at work when I was at teenager, had a permit but never got my 100 hours supervised to get the full ticket. Wish I had. Did however have a tow truck licence, but not the 3a road licence, so only got to drive the big 3.5t tiptray inside (now ex’s) work premises. Had to have towtruck licence just to be a passenger that was not a customer, which was the only way to spend time with exdh whilst preg with Mr Moo as exdh was a workaholic.
I hear you about the shoes, mine arent a half size different, but a lot wider and higher than average, and i cant wear anything with open toes, so pretty shoes are painful to find that are also in my budget.
Hi there Gemisht, I’m looking forward to reading more of your blogs. I don’t have a blog myself but I really enjoy reading them and feeling like I have “friends” all over the internet.
I’m with you on the octopus. Yuk!
I went to Korea a few years ago and went to a fish market, where the octopus were still squirming around on the trays. And if thats not bad enough they actually serve up the tentacles squirming, having been freshly chopped off a live octopus.
ohhhhhh, I was going to buy a forklift today on grayslonline, but I didnt have any shoes to go with it!
Im really enjoying your blog!
Cheers
Erin - ooooh towtrucks. I used to drive the truck at work occasionally before we upgraded. Now I would need an MR licence so don’t drive it any more. Probably a good thing.
River - thanks for dropping in. Looking forward to seeing you around
Ian - euuuwwww, still squirming. That’s terrible. That would be enough to turn me right off.
Goaldeebug - Great to see you here and thanks for the comment. LOL at not having the right shoes. I have driven ours in a straight skirt and high heels, but the guys tend to go for steel caps or similar, so I think anything really goes, unless of course you are trying to colour co-ordinate
I like octopus but the damn things are too hard to eat. The suckers fight going down and I end up with about two hours with a toothpick prying them from between my teeth.
